Introduction

Luxor Museum is located 1 kilometer in front of the Luxor Temple. Its collection includes artifacts from ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Coptic, and Islamic eras, but the most precious are those from the Pharaonic period. Among the museum’s treasures is the Golden Bull’s Head—a rare masterpiece. The bull was an object of worship in ancient Egypt, and this statue is exquisitely crafted and beautifully shaped. Additionally, the museum houses the funerary bed and model boats excavated from Tutankhamun’s tomb; rabbit-eared artifacts from the reign of Sesotris III; and the black diorite sun stone along with the bust of Amenhotep III. Ticket/Opening Hours Ticket: 30 EGP, half price for students; an extra 10 EGP for photography. Visiting hours: 9:00–13:00; 16:00–21:00.
