Just an hour’s drive from Aswan, you can reach the Temple of Kom Ombo. In ancient Egyptian, Kom Ombo means “City of Gold.” It is situated on a small hill by the Nile River and was built during the Ptolemaic dynasty. Like other temples, it features towering stone columns and solemn, weathered halls, but what makes it unique is that it has two separate entrances—one dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris, and the other to the crocodile god Sobek. Hence, the Temple of Kom Ombo is also known as the “Temple of the Two Gods.” Nearby, there is also the Edfu Falcon Temple, which you can visit after seeing the Temple of Kom Ombo.
