According to the UK's Daily Mail on October 11, Greg Healey from Swansea, UK, safely returned home on October 10 local time, concluding his months-long bicycle trip around the world. Greg’s journey took him through 20 countries, across 4 continents, covering a total distance of 20,000 miles (approximately 32,000 km).
The 32-year-old Greg is an adventure enthusiast. Since February 2013, he embarked on his bicycle journey around the globe. Setting off from his hometown of Swansea, UK, he traveled through South America, North America, the Far East, India, and then crossed Turkey and the Balkans to return to Europe. He finally made it back to Swansea on October 10 local time, completing his 20,000-mile (approximately 32,000 km) global adventure. Greg faced numerous challenges during his expedition, battling unpredictable monsoons, extreme heat, strong headwinds, and dangerous traffic on highways, often putting himself in peril. But he said the biggest difficulty was the mental loneliness brought on by the monotony of life on the road.
While on his adventure, Greg regularly updated his experiences and feelings on his Facebook page. He mentioned receiving help from locals many times along the way, for which he was very grateful. In addition, Greg said the support from those who followed and cared about him gave him great motivation and helped him overcome the loneliness during the trip.
