Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park, located in the northwestern part of the country, about 90 kilometers from Masindi, and covers an area of 3,840 square kilometers. It protects an unspoiled African savanna divided by the majestic Nile River.

Named after the Murchison Falls, where the world’s longest river thunders out of a narrow cleft in the cliffs of the East African Rift Valley and plunges 43 meters into the swirling pool below. Since the 1980s, wildlife populations have largely recovered, with elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and various antelopes roaming the lush grasslands north of the Nile—perfect for game drives. A boat trip to the Albert Delta also offers sightings of shoebill storks. Here, you can take a cruise to enjoy spectacular views of the falls.
