The Tombs of the Buganda Kings at Kasubi are located on a 30-hectare hill in Kampala, most of which is used for agriculture, with locals cultivating the land using traditional methods. The central area midway up the hill was once the palace of the Buganda Kingdom, built in 1882 and converted into a royal burial ground after 1884.

The main domed-roof building of the tombs houses the graves of four royal family members, all circular in shape. The Kasubi Tombs are a prime example of architecture constructed from the most traditional materials, primarily consisting of palm leaves, reeds, and wattle. The greatest significance of the Kasubi Tombs lies not only in their architecture but also in the spiritual and faith values they embody.
