Katonga Wildlife Reserve

Katonga Wildlife Reserve is located in western Uganda, covering an area of 211 square kilometers. It is named after the Katonga River, which flows alongside the reserve. Originally a national park, it was re-established as a wildlife reserve in 1998. It is home to 40 species of mammals and at least 150 species of birds, making it an important institution for wildlife conservation in the area. The reserve boasts a rich variety of natural landscapes, including wetlands and rivers, providing an ideal habitat for wildlife such as elephants, otters, African antelopes, waterbucks, sitatunga, reedbucks, and warthogs. It also offers visitors excellent opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and canoeing adventures.

Katonga Wildlife Reserve is a kingdom of wildlife and has gradually emerged as a new tourist destination in recent years, attracting an increasing number of visitors.
