The Uganda Museum is located in the country’s capital, Kampala, and was established in 1908. Its collections span from ancient fossils to everyday objects of the modern era, offering an incredibly rich and comprehensive display that serves as one of the most important ways to understand Uganda's historical development.

The museum’s collections feature evidence of natural history evolution such as paleontological fossils and ancient human skull fossils, as well as exhibits related to daily life and production—including musical instruments, hunting tools, clothing (such as wooden sandals, bark tops, and leather aprons), ancient modes of transport, and weapons—that vividly illustrate the social, political, and cultural development and transformation of Ugandan society throughout history. Among these exhibits, the musical instruments are particularly captivating for visitors, as they can actually try playing the displayed instruments for free and experience Uganda’s ancient musical culture firsthand.
