Spanning the equator and situated on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, Kampala is the capital and largest city of Uganda, serving as the country's political, cultural, and economic hub. This high-altitude city located right on the equator boasts a long history and became the capital of Uganda in 1964.

Set at a higher elevation, Kampala enjoys a cool climate and is filled with lush greenery. Its streets wind along rolling hills, lined with vibrant green banana trees that stand tall by the roadside, adding to the city’s charm and making it one of Africa’s most renowned tourist destinations. The city is dotted with modern buildings of innovative design and diverse styles, nestled layer upon layer amid verdant surroundings. Among its many architectural highlights, the most famous is the Bahá'í House of Worship, a religious site for Baha’i worship. It stands 130 meters tall, with a base diameter exceeding 100 meters. The dome at the top, made of decorative tiles, has a diameter of 13 meters and reaches a height of 37 meters. Other attractions worth visiting include Lake Victoria, the Uganda Museum, and the Uganda National Cultural Centre.

Kampala is well known for its vibrant nightlife. When night falls, people stroll through the streets, enjoying the lively evening atmosphere. Several large casinos in the shopping centers attract avid gamblers, keeping the areas bustling every day.
