Triglav National Park is Slovenia’s only national park, covering an area of 838 square kilometers along the borders with Italy and Austria. It accounts for a quarter of Slovenia’s territory and is one of the oldest parks in Europe. Triglav National Park boasts breathtaking beauty and also requires special protection. The park is surrounded by the diverse karst mountain landscapes and features numerous natural and cultural highlights, as well as picturesque peaks and valleys, offering visitors plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and leisure in a natural setting.

The mountains in Triglav National Park feature many safe hiking routes: in summer, it's ideal for hiking, especially for experienced trekkers; in winter, you can climb the peaks of the Julian Alps. The park also has many lakes where visitors can enjoy various water sports in the summer, and when the lakes freeze over, skiing and other snow activities are available. Beautiful waterfalls can also be seen throughout the park. In some river areas, extreme sports such as rafting and high-speed kayaking along the rivers provide thrilling experiences.
