Nine out of ten girls dream of having the perfect wedding, getting married like a princess. Among these four ultra-dreamy pink chapels, is there one that captures your heart?
1. Tan Dinh Church @ Vietnam
The closest pink church is located in Vietnam, just about a one-hour flight from Hong Kong. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Nhà thờ Tân Định) on Dien Bien Phu Street in Ho Chi Minh City is a Roman Catholic church. This century-old church was built in the early 20th century during the French colonial period, but the pink exterior walls were not painted until 1957. The architectural style retains Roman features while also incorporating Gothic elements. Visitors can enter for free to worship, and taking photos here is sure to get lots of “likes.”
2. Chesme Church @ Russia
Even those who haven’t been to Russia know it’s famous for its stunning churches. It’s truly hard to stand out among so many competitors—unless you’re a church like Chesme. Dominated by shades of pink and white, it looks even more captivating against the blue sky. While the church is now open to the public for worship, photography inside is prohibited.
3. Masjid Putra @ Malaysia
Mosques around the world are always exquisitely designed, leaving people in awe. And Islam has its own pink mosque too. By the artificial Putrajaya Lake in Malaysia, there stands a mosque with a pink domed roof constructed from rose-colored granite. This waterside mosque, known as the Pink Mosque, can accommodate 15,000 worshippers for Friday prayers. It’s open from Tuesday to Friday each week, but women are required to wear a headscarf upon entry.
4. Franciscan Church of the Annunciation @ Slovenia
Located in the capital Ljubljana, the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation was built in 1646 and features a typical basilica layout. The ceiling murals inside were painted by the 20th-century Slovenian Impressionist artist Matej Sternen. Though the overall design is not overly ornate, the pink-and-white color scheme and its towering bell tower make it one of Ljubljana’s most iconic landmarks.
