In this ancient saltworks, workers carry on salt-making methods that are over 700 years old in a simple and natural way. By avoiding the use of machinery, habitats for various seabirds and animals have been effectively preserved. Each year, as the weather warms, countless migratory birds return to their home here. Today, Sečovlje Salina Nature Park has become a famous attraction where visitors can not only observe traditional salt production and experience the harmony between humans and nature, but also purchase highly practical souvenirs—premium-quality bath salts. The influx of visitors provides an important source of income for the park, and due to its unique location and other factors, guests must explore the park aboard its public electric shuttle buses.
