The Church of the Annunciation of the Franciscan Monastery is located on Prešeren Square in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is a Franciscan church that was designated as a Slovenian national cultural monument in 2008 and is one of the most important cathedrals in Slovenia.

Constructed between 1646 and 1660 to replace an earlier church, the structure is an example of early Baroque architecture. Its red exterior gives it a majestic appearance, featuring a rectangular layout and a towering spire. The church’s altar was designed by sculptor Francesco Robba, while the frescoes were painted by Slovenian Impressionist artist Matej Sternen—both are exquisitely crafted. Near this elegant cathedral lies a monastery renowned for its library, which houses 70,000 volumes, including many rare incunabula and medieval manuscripts.
