Introduction   The Old Town preserves very ancient architecture, including St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge, Charles University founded in 1348, the historic Prague Castle, and the National Theatre. Ancient buildings dating back to the 13th century can be found almost everywhere. Some secluded streets still retain gas lamps and murals with religious motifs. Many streets are very narrow, allowing only one-way traffic for cars and trams. The Old Town Square attracts tourists all year round, where you can admire various architectural styles and also purchase high-quality, affordable handicrafts such as crystal glassware nearby.
