Dancing House

The Dancing House (Dancing House) is one of the most controversial postmodern structuralist buildings in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, located on the banks of the Vltava River. The "Dancing House" is actually the nickname of the building that houses the Dutch National Life Insurance Company, situated in the bustling district of Prague, Czech Republic. It was designed by the renowned Canadian avant-garde architect Frank Gehry in collaboration with Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić, who was born in Yugoslavia. The design was conceived in 1992, and the construction was completed in 1996.

The Dancing House features a curvaceous and rhythmic design, with its twisting twin towers resembling a couple dancing in an embrace, hence the name "Dancing House." On the left is the "female dancer," a glass-curtain structure that is narrow at the top and wider at the bottom, resembling a dance skirt. On the right is the cylindrical "male dancer." As a result, some have also named the building the "Fred and Ginger House" after the famous dance duo Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, as the two structures resemble their graceful dance movements. The Dancing House stands out among buildings inspired by Neo-Baroque, Neo-Gothic, and Art Nouveau styles, making it a highly renowned and iconic landmark in Prague.

The top floor of the Dancing House houses a French restaurant called the "Pearl of Prague," where diners can enjoy panoramic views of the Prague Castle and the cathedral from the rooftop. As night falls, the lights of the castle and the shimmering reflections on the river create a romantic and enchanting atmosphere.
