The Toy Museum Hracek in Prague, Czech Republic, is currently the largest toy museum in Europe and the second-largest in the world. Its primary collection features toys from Western Europe and America over the past century, especially those produced after the Industrial Revolution—since such mass-produced, popular toys only emerged in affluent societies afterward.

The Prague Toy Museum is located within the Prague Castle area and has two floors. The museum’s exterior features arched gateways and tall walls painted in bright canary yellow, creating a fairytale castle atmosphere. A little boy blowing a horn serves as the toy museum’s iconic symbol. After entering the enclosed courtyard surrounded by high walls, you’ll arrive at the museum entrance. Ascend the ancient wooden staircase, which is cool and rich in old-world charm.

The biggest highlight of the Prague Toy Museum is its collection of over 1,000 Barbie dolls, along with several thousand other children's toys. Many of these toys come from the private collection of Czech director and cartoonist Ivan Steiger. Although the museum isn’t very large, its exhibits are countless—models of all sizes densely fill the glass display cases, dazzling to the eye. Motorcycles, gliders, miniature trains… At first glance, these toys appear to be just small, motionless models lying quietly in their cases, but reading the descriptions reveals that they are actually all movable, powered by clockwork, batteries, or heat energy. Most are at least a century old—mechanical toys were rare treasures back then.
