St. Nicholas Church in Tallinn is a medieval church in Estonia’s capital, dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of fishermen and sailors. It is located at Harjumägi at the foot of Toompea Hill.

Due to its excellent acoustics, it is also a popular concert venue in Tallinn, frequently hosting major musical events. Among its most famous exhibits is the “Dance of Death” (Danse Macabre), a masterpiece created by the renowned German Lübeck painter and woodcarver Bernt Notke. This 30-meter-wide original oil painting vividly depicts the brevity of life, the inevitability of death, and human fragility.
