“This year, we wanted to celebrate our Vitality program in a fresh and fun way while also providing our customers with a new travel tool to experience our ‘Vitality’ philosophy all year round. Our newly launched Vitality Guides cover a wide array of remarkable attractions, helping our guests deepen their appreciation and sensory experience of their travel destinations,” said the Vice President of the Swissôtel brand. Lilian Roten said.
The release of the Vitality Guides comes at an opportune time. According tothe “2014-2015 ITB World Travel Trends Report”, “Consumers are showing greater interest in personal and local experiences, authenticity, health, community, and participation during their travels. As a result, there is a rising demand in the market for specific and niche tourism such as wellness, green journeys, adventure, and sports.”
The guides also include interactive elements, allowing guests to locate and share interesting spots they discover while exploring their destinations.
In Chicago, the guide can lead guests on a delightful urban walk: starting from the Swissôtel, passing through the Riverwalk, strolling through the New Eastside and Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, arriving at the world-famous Loop district, then stopping by the Chicago Public Library, followed by a glimpse of Dusable Harbor and Navy Pier, and finally enjoying magnificent views — the entire walk takes approximately 25 minutes. Wolf Point enjoying magnificent views — the entire walk takes approximately 25 minutes.
The newly released guides are available in Amsterdam, Ankara, Bangkok, Berlin, Bremen, Chicago, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Foshan, Geneva, Istanbul, Kolkata, Moscow, Osaka, Shanghai, Singapore, Sochi, Sydney, Tallinn, and Zurich, with more destinations to be added this year.
Travel writer and alpine adventurer John Harlin said: “Most Swissôtel properties are located in city centers, making it easy to explore key local attractions and culture on foot. The slower the pace, the more you see. The guides allow guests to truly immerse themselves in the cultural atmosphere of their destination and also save them the trouble of buying a travel guide or hiring a guide.”
Swissôtel hotels around the world will hold special events on March 21 to celebrate the brand’s self-created “Vitality Day,” where hotel guests and community members will have the opportunity to participate using the newly released guides.
Swissôtel Chicago will host a global brand event in the form of an urban adventure, where participants will visit attractions near the hotel and complete various vitality-themed tasks at each location. The event will conclude at the Vitality Lounge, where one lucky adventurer will win a grand prize trip to Switzerland.
To celebrate “Vitality Day,” Swissôtel hotels in Zurich, Tallinn, Amsterdam, and Ankara are currently planning “Vitality” city tours, while those in Berlin, Istanbul, Kunshan, and Singapore will offer specialized fitness, health, and wellness classes.
