Łazienki Park

Łazienki Park (Royal Baths Park), directly translated as Royal Bath Park (Polish: Łazienki Królewskie), is the largest park in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, covering an area of 76 hectares. This park-palace complex is situated on Aleje Ujazdowskie in the Śródmieście district of central Warsaw. This street is part of the Royal Route, which stretches north to the Royal Castle and south to Wilanów Palace. North of Łazienki Park, on the other side of Agrykola Street, stands Ujazdów Castle.

Łazienki Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Poland and features an English landscape garden style. Originally the villa of Stanisław August Poniatowski, the last king of Poland (1766–1795), the park houses palaces, pavilions, ponds, and lawns interspersed throughout, as well as a rose garden and an orange grove. The most famous waterside palace, the Palace on the Isle, is majestic and lavishly ornate. The central part of the palace is a circular hall adorned with a chandelier, surrounded by uniquely decorated architectural elements. When viewed from a distance, the island palace and its reflection in the water merge into a breathtakingly beautiful scene.

On the western side of the park stands a bronze statue of Frédéric Chopin, the great Polish composer, poetically placed beside a grand fountain. During weekend afternoons and holidays in spring and autumn, free open-air concerts by master musicians are held at the Chopin Concert Stage in the park, offering visitors the chance to enjoy wonderful melodies. The music community takes pride in being invited to perform here and showcase their talent in front of Chopin’s statue.
