Żelazowa Wola, a small village located over 50 kilometers west of Warsaw, is a must-visit for first-time visitors to the Polish capital as it is the birthplace of Frédéric Chopin, the world-renowned Polish composer loved by people across the globe. The current Chopin's Birthplace Museum was rebuilt after World War II. It is a 7-hectare park where a row of white cottages is nestled among green trees and blooming flowers. There are four uniquely designed Chopin statues in the courtyard, one of which, created over 100 years ago, is also Poland’s first-ever Chopin statue. The interior preserves the look of the past, housing compositions from Chopin’s youth and the "giraffe" upright piano he once used. Every Sunday, concerts are held here, featuring performances of Chopin’s works by renowned pianists from around the world. The garden outside the cottage is picturesque, planted with valuable flowers, plants, and trees donated from all over Poland. A Chopin statue stands within the grounds. With the sound of a gentle stream and drifting music, this beautiful environment attracts many visitors.

Frédéric François Chopin (F.F. Chopin, 1810–1849), a 19th-century Polish composer and pianist.

Born in Poland in 1810, Chopin began composing in 1817 and made his debut performance in 1818. From 1822 to 1829, he studied composition and music theory at the Warsaw High School of Music. Starting in 1829, he toured Europe as a composer and pianist. After the failure of the Warsaw Uprising, he settled in Paris, where he taught and composed.
