Parade Square

Parade Square is situated in the heart of Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Constructed in the 1950s together with the Palace of Culture and Science, it is one of the city’s youngest squares. It lies to the north of Świętokrzyska Street, to the south of Aleje Jerozolimskie, to the east of Marszałkowska Street, and to the west of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, making it a highly strategic location.

Covering an area of 240,000 square meters, Parade Square is the largest urban square in the European Union and the sixth-largest in the world. Since its completion, the square was extensively used by the government of the People's Republic of Poland for various propaganda purposes, once serving as the country’s most important central square. However, after the fall of the communist regime, the square gradually lost its former prestige and turned into a large marketplace, drawing criticism from people across Poland. Currently, new planning schemes have been developed for Parade Square, and it is believed that in the near future, the square will resume serving the public with new functions and regain its former glory.
