Hofgasse
Attraction Introduction
After visiting the romantic Sporgasse, you can continue your stroll along Hofgasse. The most famous attraction here is the exquisite building adorned with a magnificent wooden door topped with a gilded double-headed eagle — the Edegger-tax. It was here that the highly prized, delicious imperial-era breads such as Sissibusserl (Sisi’s Kiss) and Kaiserzieback (Emperor’s Biscuit) were produced. In addition, there are many distinctive cafés and bars in the area.
A short walk will take you to Freiheitsplatz (Freedom Square), where you can also visit one of Graz’s most beautiful historic buildings — the Burg (Castle) at the center of the square (Hofgasse 15).
