One of the most fascinating tourist attractions in Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city and major port, is the Old Town Museum (Den Gamle By). Established in 1914, it is the world’s first open-air museum showcasing urban architectural culture. It is one of Denmark’s most popular specialty museums, attracting approximately 35 million visitors each year.

The Old Town Museum is a charming open-air museum featuring 75 traditional wooden houses, including 27 residences, 34 workshops, 10 shops, 5 classical gardens, a post office, a customs office, a school, a theater, and other supporting facilities. The area is beautifully kept, neat, full of shops, and exudes the charm of an ancient Nordic town, making it a truly memorable place to visit.

Here, visitors can see old houses built in different historical periods and representing various architectural styles. All the buildings were carefully selected from across Denmark and relocated here while preserving their original appearance. They were assembled as part of a town, including a bakery, a silversmith shop, a bookbinding workshop, and more. It is said that during the restoration process after relocation, every brick and tile had to be accurately placed back in its original position.
