Aoteqi Gully

Aoteqi Gully is a cultural tourism attraction.

Aoteqi Gully is located in Hongge’er Town, Siziwang Banner, in the upper reaches of the Tabu River Valley, about 10 kilometers north of Xilamuren Temple. The gully stretches approximately 10 kilometers in length, with the Tabu River carving a deep gorge of 30–50 meters. The valley sides are rugged with oddly shaped rocks, forming a variety of picturesque rock formations. Early-growing shrubs cling to the cliff faces, creating a breathtaking natural landscape. Within the gully, the Tabu River meanders along its course, occasionally punctuated by waterfowl taking flight, painting a vivid scene in the sky.

The northern end of the gully was historically a summer retreat for nobility. Today, remnants of the noble summer manor and stone-paved pathways can still be found. Some massive rocks also feature stone carvings depicting scenes such as princes kneeling in worship. This area enjoys cool summers and warm winters, with fresh air. It is said that in the past, the place was covered with lush vegetation and shaded by green trees, and was home to golden eagles, pheasants, argali sheep...
