Penrhyn Castle is located in Bangor in North Wales, nestled within some of the most stunning landscapes in Britain, with views overlooking Snowdon and the Menai Strait. This magnificent Norman-style castle, as it appears today, was built between 1820 and 1837 by the renowned Victorian architect Thomas Hopper for the Pennant family. It is estimated that the castle cost around £49.5 million to build.

The interior of Penrhyn Castle is lavishly decorated, with dazzling carvings and an air of aristocracy. It is filled with opulent furniture and ornate paintings, along with many well-preserved handmade artifacts. The walls, ceilings, railings, and other surfaces throughout the castle are adorned with intricate patterns and sculptures—even a single ceiling is covered in elaborate decorations. Visitors can admire a one-ton slate bed specially made for Queen Victoria. There’s also a railway museum to explore, and the doll museum showcases dolls from the 19th to 20th centuries. The castle estate spans 24.3 hectares and includes a garden filled with exotic trees and shrubs, as well as a walled Victorian-style garden.
