Troy Grant, Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events of New South Wales (Troy Grant) said today: "China is New South Wales' largest inbound tourist market. In the year ending September, more than 443,000 Chinese visitors stayed 12.1 million nights in New South Wales, spending over USD 1.5 billion."
Mr. Grant said: "It makes great sense to provide an easy-to-use, professional website that ensures potential Chinese visitors can access the information they need to help plan their next holiday to Sydney and New South Wales."
The website will become the primary source of travel information on Sydney and New South Wales in China, featuring over 150 iconic experiences, activities, and destinations across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Central Coast, Byron Bay, Port Macquarie, Port Stephens, and Coffs Harbour.
Visitors to the website can create a travel wish list, view maps and route suggestions, and learn about key travel experiences in New South Wales including beach adventures, food and wine, nature and wildlife, festivals and events, farm stays, shopping, adventure, and top attractions.
Sandra Chipchase, CEO of the New South Wales Tourism Board (Sandra Chipchase) said the website will inform Chinese travelers about holiday experiences in Sydney and New South Wales and encourage them to participate.
Ms. Chipchase said: "Sydney.cn helps Chinese visitors easily find detailed information about New South Wales. Sydney and New South Wales offer a wealth of attractions for Chinese tourists, such as the magnificent Blue Mountains, the wonderful Hunter Valley, the crystal-clear waters of the South Coast, and beautiful harbor cities. With world-class food and wine, nature, shopping, and unique experiences, New South Wales has it all — and we are eager to welcome Chinese visitors."
