Aberglasney House and Gardens is a medieval mansion and garden nestled in the picturesque Tywi Valley of Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Aberglasney House and Gardens boasts a long history and is among Wales’ most impressive garden restoration endeavors. The nine-acre estate comprises six distinct gardens, including three walled gardens. At its heart lies a fully restored Jacobean cloister and parapet walk, surrounded by a rich variety of plants. Aberglasney is regarded as one of the most beautiful garden settings in Britain and has inspired writers and poets since 1477. The yew tunnel is believed to have been planted by the Dyer family, who lived here in the 18th century, and took nine years of careful pruning to restore its original arched form. Another highlight is the “Ninfarium,” an indoor garden featuring exotic plants from around the world.

Today, this beautiful estate is managed by the Aberglasney Restoration Trust, a charitable organization. It is open to the public from 10:00am to 6:00pm between April and September, and from 10:30am to 4:00pm between October and March. Admission is charged.
