The Yew Tunnel is located in the picturesque Tywi Valley of Carmarthenshire, Wales, UK, near the Aberglasney House and Gardens. Aberglasney is regarded as one of the most beautiful gardens in Britain and has inspired writers since 1470.

The Yew Tunnel is believed to have been planted in the 18th century by the Dyer family, who lived at Aberglasney House. Believe it or not, it took nine years of careful pruning to shape the tunnel into its current arched form. Due to years of neglect and lack of trimming, the trees had grown much taller than the house and lost their striking appearance. It took a full nine years to restore the trees back to their original arching shape. The Yew Tunnel is one of the area’s most famous tourist attractions, and every visitor to Aberglasney House and Gardens makes a special trip to admire and take photos with one of the most beautiful yew tunnels in the world.
