Liberty Stadium

Liberty Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Swansea, the second-largest city in Wales. With a fully seated capacity of 20,532, it is the largest dedicated sports venue in Swansea and the third-largest stadium in all of Wales. The stadium currently serves as the home ground for both Swansea City Football Club and the Ospreys rugby team.

Liberty Stadium officially opened on July 10, 2005, becoming the home ground for both Swansea City Football Club and the Ospreys rugby team. A ceremonial opening match was held on July 23, featuring a friendly between Swansea and Fulham, managed by former player Chris Coleman. The game ended in a 1–1 draw, with Fulham’s Steed Malbranque scoring the first-ever goal at the stadium. The highest recorded attendance at Liberty Stadium to date was on November 11, 2005, during a League One match between Swansea and Yeovil, which drew 19,288 spectators. The stadium has also hosted two international matches for the Wales national football team, losing 1–2 to Georgia and 0–1 to Sweden.

Aside from football matches, the stadium has also been used for concerts. On June 1, 2007, The Who performed a concert at Liberty Stadium. Elton John held a concert there on June 29, 2008, with an estimated record-breaking attendance of 25,000. On June 23, 2010, Pink performed as part of her “Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour.”
