Nestled at the confluence of the River Monnow and the River Wye, approximately 3.2 kilometers from the English border, 58 kilometers northeast of Cardiff (the capital of Wales), and 204 kilometers west of London, Monmouth is a town in southeastern Wales and the county town of Monmouthshire.

This peaceful city is home to numerous historical landmarks and is also the birthplace of King Henry V of England. On May 19, 2012, it became the world’s first “Wikipedia Town.” The 13th-century Monnow Bridge is the only remaining bridge of its kind in Britain and serves as a local landmark. The famous Shire Hall stands adorned with a statue of Henry V, while the nearby Rolls & Royce statue, which gazes upon a model airplane, commemorates his first non-stop round-trip flight across the English Channel in June 1910. The Nelson Museum in the town offers a comprehensive exhibition of the life and achievements of the British naval hero, as well as some war relics.

The expansive Agincourt Square, a host of leisurely pubs, the picturesque Wye Valley, the ancient Monmouth Castle, and the green expanse of Nelson Garden are all worth a visit.
