Ruthin

Ruthin is located in the southern part of the Vale of Clwyd and is a town in Denbighshire, North Wales, UK. It also serves as the county town of Denbighshire.

Ruthin Gaol was once a prison until 1976. After several renovations, it has now become a museum, showcasing exhibits that include prison facilities reflecting its past as a jail, as well as some artefacts representing the history and archaeological findings of Ruthin. The Ruthin Craft Centre houses workshops that display exquisite craftsmanship such as glassblowing, porcelain making, painting, and home restoration. The new craft centre, opened in 2008, features six craft workshops, an art gallery, and a retail centre. Visitors can not only watch the crafting processes but also purchase beautiful handmade goods. Nantclwyd y Dre, a Grade I listed timber-framed house, and St Peter’s Church from the 13th and 14th centuries are both impressive local historic buildings.
