Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park

Located in the northern part of Belfast, the park covers 130 acres and was donated by Lady Dixon in 1959 in honor of her husband, Sir Thomas.

Managed by Belfast City Council, the park is globally recognized for its “Belfast International Rose Garden” and ranks among Belfast’s four most beloved parks. It features lush meadows, dense woodlands, winding pathways, bubbling streams, fragrant rose gardens, tranquil walled gardens, elegant Japanese gardens, and a fun-filled children’s playground. The park offers an elegant, peaceful, and serene environment, with the rose garden being particularly famous. In summer, over 40,000 roses burst into bloom, creating a vibrant and breathtaking scene. Each July, the park hosts the annual “Rose Week,” attracting thousands of visitors.

In 2012, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park was awarded the Green Flag Award, making it one of the top ten parks in the UK to receive this honor and earning recognition as one of the country’s finest public parks.
