Bradford Industrial Museum

Bradford Industrial Museum is located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, and was established in 1974. The building it occupies was formerly the Moorside Mills factory and primarily houses local industrial artifacts, especially printing and textile machinery. These historical relics are preserved in their usual working states, showcasing the area's once-thriving industrial era.

Moorside Mills was established around 1875 by John Moore as a small worsted spinning mill. Over time and with advancing technology, the factory changed ownership many times and continued to grow in scale. In 1970, the Bradford Council purchased the factory and converted it into the innovative industrial museum it is today.

The permanent exhibits at Bradford Industrial Museum include textile machinery, steam engines, motors, printing equipment, and automobiles. Rows of old-fashioned machines on display transport visitors back to the booming industrial period. Additionally, you can visit the residence of the factory manager or the terraced houses where workers lived, reflecting three different industrial eras. Here, you can get a general sense of what a Yorkshire spinning mill was like during the height of the Industrial Revolution.
