Harewood House is a country estate located in the Harewood area near Leeds. It was initially invested in and built by a wealthy merchant, designed by architects John Carr and Robert Adam, and constructed between 1759-1771. Over time, it changed ownership several times and underwent various renovations before becoming the official residence of the Earl of Harewood, a cousin of the British Queen.
