Bradford is located amidst the Pennine Mountains and is a metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, Northern Ireland. It became a metropolitan borough in 1847 and gained city status in 1897. By the mid-20th century, as the textile industry gradually lost its prominence, the city became widely known as a tourist destination and was named the world’s first UNESCO City of Film, attracting visitors from around the globe.
