Russborough House

Russborough House is located near a lake in County Wicklow, Ireland. Stretching 210 meters in length, it is the longest house in Ireland and a prime example of Palladian architecture. It is also one of the most photogenic mansions in the country.

Constructed between 1741 and 1755 by Earl Milltown (Joseph Leeson), Russborough House was opened to the public as a house dedicated to art collections by the Irish government in 1978. The mansion houses some of the finest artworks from different centuries, featuring masterpieces by renowned artists such as Spanish painter Goya, Flemish painter Rubens, British painter Gainsborough, and Dutch painter Vermeer. In 2010, a major fire severely damaged the western part of the house, causing partial roof collapse, but fortunately, the artworks were not harmed.

In recent years, the grasslands surrounding Russborough House have been used as a local farmers' market, providing convenience for nearby residents' shopping needs.
