Multiple Working Holiday Options: Ireland to Open Applications Next Year

After this program takes effect on January 1 next year, my country and Ireland will each offer 400 spots per year to young people aged 18 to 30 from the other country for working holidays. By combining travel, work, or self-funded study abroad, participants can visit each other's countries to learn the language, gain an in-depth understanding of local culture, society, and daily life. In recent years, the number of Taiwanese applying for overseas working holiday programs has risen rapidly. Over the past four years, the number of applicants has increased from over 12,400 before 2009 (2003–2007) to the current figure of more than 57,000—a near fivefold increase. With Ireland being added next year, we expect the growth in numbers to become even more significant.
