Hello Kitty Lounge Catches Eyes as Taoyuan Airport Named Among World’s Top 10 Friendliest Airports

Taoyuan Airport has been selected by travel website Amadeus as one of the world’s top 10 friendliest airports. The friendliest facility at Taoyuan International Airport is the Hello Kitty-themed lounge at Gate C3 in Terminal 2, which features a children’s play area and the world’s only travel plush toy of Kitty pulling a suitcase. Even the seating area for passengers is pink, and the adjacent Hello Kitty specialty store sells unique limited-edition items such as Kitty-themed sun cakes, pineapple cakes, and chocolates, allowing travelers to better enjoy their time at the airport during layovers or flight delays.

In addition to the C3 lounge, Hello Kitty’s cute pink presence can also be found elsewhere in Taoyuan Airport, including the baby care room and telephone booths within the restricted area of Terminal 2, which have also been designed as exclusive Kitty spaces. In the departure hall of Terminal 2, EVA Air’s self-service check-in counters are designed to resemble a Hello Kitty cabin, displaying all the items available on Hello Kitty flights, including pillows and tableware. Next to Lounges B7 and A4 in Terminal 1, there are also Hello Kitty shops and slides, providing a playful space for children.

In recent years, Taoyuan Airport has incorporated many cultural elements into its otherwise mundane lounge spaces. Themed lounges include the D7 Pili Puppet Show Lounge, A5 Taiwanese Snacks Lounge, C7 Postal Lounge, and the D3 Journey to the West-inspired Lounge, all of which have successfully attracted many travelers to stop and take photos. Beyond the lounges, Taoyuan Airport also offers services in the transit area such as massage, SPA, movies, dining, and transit hotels for passenger use.
