Trim Castle is located on the south bank of the River Boyne in County Meath, Ireland, covering an area of 30,000 square meters. It is the largest Norman castle in Ireland and also one of the most beautiful castles in the country. The construction of Trim Castle began in 1172 but was unfortunately destroyed and later rebuilt in 1204.

For centuries, Trim Castle has been the largest and most important castle in Ireland. It once served as the stronghold of the Anglo-Normans, who used the castle to monitor the local population and employed every means to prevent anyone from entering. As a model of an impregnable fortress, Trim Castle features solid granite outer walls, hidden slit-like arrow slits, and treacherously steep steps in its most fortified areas, making it extremely difficult for invaders to advance. The Irish government invested heavily in the castle’s restoration, and it opened to the public in 2000, allowing visitors to explore its former glory through the remaining structures.

The movie *Braveheart*, starring Mel Gibson, was filmed here, making it a cherished destination in the hearts of many and a renowned tourist attraction.
