Pearse Museum

The Pearse Museum is located in the northern suburbs of Dublin and was established as a museum to commemorate Patrick Pearse and his brother William Pearse. Patrick Pearse was an Irish teacher, lawyer, poet, writer, nationalist, and politician, and one of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising. After the failure of the Rising and the execution of Pearse, he and his brother, along with 14 other leaders, came to be seen by many as symbols of the uprising.

The building that houses the Pearse Museum was once a school and was later converted into a museum dedicated to the Pearse brothers. The museum tells the story of the brothers’ lives and recreates the atmosphere of the Pearse household. Visitors can explore Pearse’s study and living room, gaining insight into Patrick Pearse’s living and creative environment, as well as the legendary stories of their lives.
