Muckross House is situated in the town of Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. Designed by Scottish architect William Burn, it was built for Henry Arthur Herbert and his wife. Construction began in 1839 and was completed in 1843. The property features Tudor-style architecture and is one of Ireland’s most prestigious mansions.

To welcome a visit from Queen Victoria, extensive renovations and upgrades were carried out in 1861. The mansion has 65 rooms, each exquisitely decorated to showcase the luxurious lifestyle of the aristocracy. The estate also boasts distinct water gardens, a playground for children, and a rock garden carved from natural limestone into various shapes—all eye-catching and especially popular among kids.
