Lough Leane is located in the town of Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland, situated within Killarney National Park. It is one of Ireland's most famous lakes and also one of the country's most popular tourist destinations.

Lough Leane is made up of three lakes: Lough Leane (Lower Lake), Muckross Lake (Middle Lake), and Upper Lake, with an average depth of 13.4 metres and a maximum depth of up to 60 metres. Lough Leane is the largest of the three, featuring numerous islands as well as the ruins of an ancient castle. Upper Lake boasts vast expanses surrounded by dense woodlands, with many limestone caves along its eastern shore.
