Malahide Castle is located in the village of Malahide, in the northern part of Dublin, 14 kilometers from the city center. Covering an area of 260 acres, it is one of the most photogenic castles in Dublin and is free to visitors.

The history of Malahide Castle dates back to 1185, when one of the knights who accompanied Henry II came to Ireland in 1174 to manage the land. The oldest parts of the castle date back to the 12th century and survived the Battle of Boyne. It is a blend of various architectural styles, elegant yet ornate. For over 800 years, from 1185 to 1973, the castle remained in the possession of the Talbot family. After the death of the last Talbot heir, the house, decorated with beautiful furnishings and an extensive collection of Irish portraits, became a popular attraction for visitors.

Behind Malahide Castle lies the Talbot Botanic Gardens, covering 1.6 hectares and featuring a variety of plants from the Southern Hemisphere, especially from Chile and Australia, making it an ideal spot to admire unique flora.
