Herbert Park

Herbert Park is located in the Ballsbridge district of Dublin and is one of the city’s most well-known parks. Covering 32 acres, it is divided by a winding path running through the center, making it an ideal spot for locals to exercise in the morning or spend time outdoors on weekends.

The park is named after Sidney Herbert, who donated the land to the government in 1903 with the hope of creating a public park for the community. In 1907, the world-renowned Dublin International Exhibition was held here, showcasing items from the British Empire. Herbert Park is one of Dublin’s four most famous parks, featuring football fields, tennis courts, gardens, a duck pond, and a children’s playground—offering ample recreational facilities for residents. The pond is home not only to tree-lined areas frequented by ducks but also to carp that occasionally leap out of the water.

Every morning, locals can be seen exercising in the park—some jogging along the paths, others strolling or doing stretching exercises, creating a harmonious scene.
