Doolin

Doolin is a village on the Atlantic coast of County Clare, Ireland. It is a charming settlement blessed with stunning natural scenery.

Doolin is famous as a center of traditional Irish music, drawing many visitors each evening to its three pubs for live music performances. Numerous renowned musicians have either lived here or performed in the local pubs, including Micho Russell and his brothers Pakie and Gussie, Sharon Shannon, Davy Spillane, and Steve Wickham of The Waterboys.

The area around the village is home to many archaeological sites dating back as far as the Iron Age. The famous Dunguaire Castle and Ballynalacken Castle are both located near Doolin. Doolin is one of the three ferry departure points for the Aran Islands, the other two being Galway and Rossaveal, and the islands are visible from the village. Doolin is also not far from the world-famous Cliffs of Moher, with bus services connecting the two. Additionally, Doolin is one of the settings featured in the PS3 game “Folklore: The Lost Legend,” where in the game’s storyline, it is the only place in the world that serves as a gateway to the realm of the dead.
