O2 Arena

The O2 Arena is located at North Wall Quay in Dublin's Docklands, the capital of Ireland. It is a large venue with a capacity of 14,000 people and officially opened its doors on December 16, 2008. The arena was built on the site of the former Point Theatre, a small music venue that operated from 1988 to 2007, of which only the original façade remains today.

With a capacity of 14,000, the O2 Arena is the largest indoor arena in Ireland. It has 9,500 fixed seats, and can accommodate up to 14,500 people including standing room. Its retractable seating design allows for up to 8,000 spectators to stand in front of the stage. The farthest seat is 60 meters from the stage, while the closest is just 20 meters away. The majority of the seats are arranged around a central stage, giving it a shape reminiscent of a Roman amphitheatre. In 2011, the O2 Arena was ranked as the fifth busiest arena in the world, with 670,000 tickets sold.

Since its opening, the O2 Arena has hosted numerous notable comedy and music performances, such as U2 concerts, the “Children in Need Concert” on December 16, 2008, and the hard rock band Guns N' Roses concert in September 2010.
