Letterkenny

Letterkenny is the largest and most populous town in County Donegal, Ireland. It developed from a 17th-century market town and is home to the renowned Letterkenny Institute of Technology. It is also a popular tourist destination.

Many of Letterkenny’s notable buildings were built in the early 1850s, with the tallest being the Cathedral of St. Eunan and St. Columba, constructed between 1890 and 1900. It is the only Roman Catholic cathedral in County Donegal. Another photogenic building in the town is Saint Eunan's College, which resembles a castle and is known as the “City on the Hill.” It is set in beautiful surroundings that blend perfectly with the architecture. The Donegal County Museum, established in 1987, houses and displays historical artifacts related to County Donegal, covering archaeology, history, social history, and daily life.
