The Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography is located on Universitetskaya Embankment in St. Petersburg, Russia, opposite the Winter Palace. It was commissioned by Peter the Great (Peter the Great) in 1727 and is the oldest museum in Russia. Currently, the museum houses two million exhibits, extensively collecting anthropological and ethnological materials from four major continents of the world, making it one of the best places in the world to learn about anthropology and ethnology.
