Emirates increases flights to St. Petersburg; launches Bologna route in November

In response to growing passenger demand, Emirates will expand capacity on its Dubai–St. Petersburg route in October 2015 and launch a new Dubai–Bologna route in November.

Emirates announced that starting October 25, 2015, all six daily flights (EK175/176) between Dubai and St. Petersburg will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, replacing the previous Airbus A330-200s. Additionally, from December 1, 2015, one more flight will be added, making seven weekly flights between Dubai and Russia. Emirates has been serving the Russian market for 12 years and has carried 3.6 million passengers between Dubai, St. Petersburg, and Moscow.

Italian city Bologna will become Emirates' fourth destination in Italy on November 3 this year, following Venice, Milan, and Rome. The airline will operate one daily flight between Dubai and Bologna using the Boeing 777-300ER, making it the only carrier offering wide-body aircraft service to Bologna.
