Casa Macaya
Introduction A work by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, built between 1901-1902. The design is not as eye-catching as those of Gaudí or Domènech i Montaner, but the detailing is exquisite, such as the bas-reliefs on the walls and the fine carvings on the balconies. The stairwell roof in the atrium features smooth curves, embodying elegant medieval style.
Currently, Casa Macaya is owned by CaixaBank and is open as a cultural center, frequently hosting various exhibitions. Food/Stay/Shopping Shopping: The ground floor of Casa Macaya houses a bookstore specializing in art books. Transportation Metro: Verdaguer Station (Lines 4 and 5).
