Picasso Museum

Introduction Converted from a noble residence into the Picasso Museum in 1963, it features a tranquil courtyard, ornate walls, and window frames.

The museum houses over 3,500 works by Picasso, ranging from oil paintings to sketches, prints, and ceramic sculptures, showcasing a wide variety of types. Many of these were early works donated by the artist himself in 1970, including even pieces from his childhood. His painting “First Communion” created at age 15 demonstrates remarkable technical skill. The 58-piece series “Las Meninas,” inspired by Velázquez’s famous painting “Las Meninas,” is particularly intriguing and represents one of the artist’s late-career masterpieces. Other works such as “Science and Charity,” “Harlequin,” and “The Dove” are also worth close examination.
